What we collect

When you create a Gaffer account we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and instrument. When you use the app we store the chord charts, setlists, gigs, and band data you create, along with basic usage data (feature usage, error logs) needed to keep the app working and to enforce subscription limits.

AI features

Chart cleanup, transcription, and setlist suggestions are processed using Anthropic's Claude API. Content you submit to these features (photos of charts, chart text, setlist data) is sent to Anthropic for processing and is not used by Anthropic to train their models under our agreement with them.

Payments and subscriptions

Subscription purchases are handled by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We never see or store your payment card details — we only receive your subscription tier and status from RevenueCat.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Gaffer: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), RevenueCat (subscription billing), Anthropic (AI chart processing), and Resend (transactional email, e.g. band invitations). We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or ad tracking.

Band and setlist sharing

Charts and setlists you share with a band are visible to that band's other members, according to the role they hold in the band. Removing yourself or being removed from a band revokes that access going forward.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, in the app or on the web. Deleting your account signs you out immediately and blocks further sign-in. Your data is retained for 30 days — during which you can contact us to recover it — after which it is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
